We've already showed you how to add variations to your products. You’ll also notice the ability to add a category, located just above the price field. From this menu, you can add and select relevant product categories. For example, if you are a clothing retailer, you may want to have all your shirts in a category titled, “Shirts” and all of your pants in the category “Pants.”

Go into your products list by clicking on the menu in the upper left-hand corner and clicking "Products" from the dropdown.

To add a category, click the dropdown beneath “Categories”, then click"Add a Category."

To add a category, click the dropdown beneath “Categories”, then click"Add a Category." Next, click in the box and name the category, in this case, “Shirts.” When you're done, click “Save Changes.”

Now, the next time you add an item to your product inventory, you can select the the appropriate category, so customers can get the full scope of all you have to offer.

It's worth noting that a product can belong to one or zero categories; it cannot belong to multiple categories.
